LocAl® Super Green

LocAl® Super Green

In January 2024, Goldco® Security made the ethical choice to use Capral Aluminium’s LocAl® Super Green Aluminium¹ for all its SupaScreen® products. This made GoldCo® Security the first security screen manufacturer in Australia to use low carbon aluminium as standard on the frames for its woven stainless steel security screens.

The global average carbon emissions associated with the production of primary aluminium (smelting and casting), is approximately 12.46 kg CO2e per Kilogram of aluminium². But with LocAl® Super Green, carbon emissions are far lower at 4kg CO2e per kilogram of aluminium, while still possessing the same technical properties as traditional aluminium. This makes LocAl® Super Green Aluminium one of the lowest carbon primary aluminium options on the market.

Our supplier of LocAl Super Green, Capral Aluminium, is certified under and uses the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) performance and chain of custody standards. This means that you can be assured that the aluminium used in your security screen has been responsibly and sustainably sourced at every stage in the supply chain.

GoldCo® Security believes that reducing carbon emissions from their products is critically important to mitigate the effects of climate change, improve health, and to maintain biodiversity. This initiative addresses SDG9 (responsible consumption & production), 12 (resilient infrastructure) and 17 (partnerships). When carbon emissions are reduced, this assists with ensuring cleaner air, water, and food for our generation and generations yet to come.
